Renforth Resources – Visible Free Gold in Thin Section on Discovery Vein at New Alger

Mar 1, 2018

Petrographical work recently completed on the Discovery Vein stripped area at New Alger concluded:

  • Presence of free gold proven in Discovery Veins
  • Discovery Vein system is pegmatitic and located in the Pontiac Sediments, a similar setting to the Canadian Malartic Mine approximately 25 km east
  • Discovery Vein System is genetically similar to Thompson-Cadillac Mine Area Veins
  • Petrographic observations gave a composition dominated by brown to green tourmaline identified as a low iron dravite in association with potassic feldspar, aluminous silicates (sillimanite+cordierite) and biotite

These technical observations are important as they will help us in planning the next round of exploration work we do at New Alger, to include both the Mine Area and the Discovery Veins together, as the mineralized systems are related.Ā  The press release out today offers additional detail on each of these points.

“Free Gold” is gold in its’ pure form, as nuggets or flakes, not combined with any other minerals.Ā  Amenable to crushing to liberate it at the mining stage this form of gold also contributes to a “nugget effect” in standard assay methods and supports the concept of a bulk sample being required at some point on the Discovery Vein surface mineralization, as previously press released, in order to better define the true gold grade.
