I am very pleased to share President Biden’s vision and commitment to support a sustainable and environmentally responsible critical minerals and battery supply chain in the United States. Controlled Thermal Resources is honored to be included in today’s White House brief.
We applaud the federal, state and local governments for their proactive and collaborative approach to achieve these goals as we all work hard to develop a resilient, clean energy economy that creates good paying jobs while also leading the world in lithium and critical minerals resource sustainability.
I would also like to commend California’s Governor Gavin Newsom for his leadership and thanks to Silvia Paz, Chair of the Lithium Valley Commission for speaking so clearly on how the community will be engaged and involved as we all move forward.
We look forward to a visit from US Department of Energy Secretary Granholm as we all continue to work together to realize this truly outstanding opportunity in Imperial County’s ‘Lithium Valley’.
As President Biden commented: “This is one of those moments, one of those inflection points in history.” And, “The combination of economic and technical breakthroughs, coupled with the impact of doing it in environmentally sound ways… I think it has enormous opportunity.” |
