Epic Gold Corp – President Rod Husband shares his thoughts on two recent news releases regarding our Hawkins Gold Project, Ontario
I wanted to share a few thoughts on Epic Gold’s two recent news releases regarding our Hawkins Gold Project in Ontario.
Our investment thesis is straightforward: build scale around an established gold resource, demonstrate the potential for attractive economics, and unlock the significant exploration upside across a much larger gold system.
With the new Mineral Resource Estimate and recent prospecting results, we have taken important steps toward advancing that thesis.
Four key investment takeaways:
1. Strong Foundation for Growth
-
Hawkins now hosts a current Inferred Mineral Resource of approximately 440,000 ounces of gold grading 0.98 g/t Au, with a significant near-surface component.
2. Significant Resource Expansion Potential
-
The McKinnon Deposit accounts for only approximately 3.7 kilometres of a much longer mineralized structure, with most of the current resource located within approximately 200 metres of surface.
-
Mineralization remains open in multiple directions, providing opportunities to materially expand the resource.
3. High-Grade Gold Highlights Discovery Upside
-
Recent channel sampling of 9.42 g/t Au over 11 metres at Goldfields, more than 7 km west of McKinnon.
-
Recent surface samples returned up to 65.0 g/t Au east of McKinnon and 72.1 g/t Au a further 2.45 km east.
4. District-Scale Exploration Opportunity
- Hawkins lies within a prospective regional deformation corridor extending over 15 kilometres within a broader structural system extending over 60 kilometres.
- Epic is developing an integrated geological model connecting numerous gold occurrences, with the objective of identifying additional deposits.
The Bigger Picture
We believe Hawkins is evolving from a single-resource project into a district-scale gold exploration opportunity, anchored by an established 440,000-ounce current resource.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss our exploration strategy and upcoming catalysts.
Atrium Research has also published the attached updated note increasing its price target to C$0.85 from C$0.75.
Best Regards,,
Rod
