This month the team at Century Lithium was pleased to reconfirm the production of battery-grade lithium on-site at the Clayton Valley Lithium Project. The pilot plant, which has now been in operation for 18 months, repeated the production of a high-purity lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) grading 99.87% with lithium-bearing claystone. The key takeaway is that once again Century demonstrated its ability to produce a high purity lithium product with low level of impurities from clay.
The company also published a press release on the ongoing partnership work with Koch Technologies. The ongoing Feasibility Study is progressing well, and all major areas have now been completed. The various engineering groups are reviewing their respective capital and operating cost estimates and evaluating optimization and cost reduction opportunities. A peer review on capital estimates is also expected to be completed during Q2. However, we now anticipate the study’s publication in H2 2023.
We’d also like to dedicate some space to thank Ms. Cassandra Joseph for her pivotal role in guiding the Company through key development stages. While we’re sad to see her go, we wish her nothing but the best in her new endeavors at Ivanhoe Electric.
We also would like to welcome Todd S. Fayram to the team in the new position of Senior Vice-President of Mettalurgy. You can read about his work experience and achievements in our recent press release here.
