Berkwood Resources – China’s demand for Electric Vehicles (EV) creating graphite demand.

May 31, 2018

Berkwood Resources Ltd. (www.berkwoodresources.com) may benefit from China’s demand for graphite.

China is leading the world in Electric Vehicles (EV) manufacturing and the world supply of EV will triple in 2 years.

Berkwood’s President & CEO, Tom Yingling, is in China, right now meeting with graphite producers and processors.

  1. At least 10 more giant battery “gigafactories” will be needed.
  2. 1.5 million electric buses will be in use by 2030.
  3. 100,000 electrified buses were sold last year,  99% in China.
  4. 13 million EV’s on the road by 2020, up from 3.7 million last year.
  5. World wide sales of EV’s to soar 24% each year through to 2030.
  6. All major car makers announcing battery powered models.  There are over 174 models on the market today.
  7. Chinese government has put policies in place to promote EV’s and China will remain the world’s biggest market.
  8. EV’s last year reduced 380,000 barrels a day.  By 2030 it may be 2.37 million Barrels a day.
  9. 2018 New EV’s sales forecasted: China 1,000,000, USA 400,000, Global 1.8 million.
  10. Why are EV’s rising: Gov’t Subsidy, Charging Networks growing and costs are coming down.

This all adds up to a major demand of all elements that will go into batteries needed to power the EV’s.   Graphite is by a multiple of 10+ the largest element that goes into the batteries and it is forecasted that there will be an enormous world shortage.   As China will have the largest demand for EV batteries and graphite, Berkwood’s President & CEO, Tom Yingling, is in China, right now meeting with graphite manufactures and producers.

Berkwood has made a huge graphite discover and we have high grade and large flake graphite, the type that is need for the EV batteries.

We are a hedge against this giant market demand.
