Does American Creek Resources (TSX-V: AMK) have an early stage Brucejack (Pretivm) or Premier (Ascot) type deposit in British Columbia’s “Golden Triangle”?

B.C.’s “Golden Triangle”

If you’ve followed companies like Pretium Resources (up 222% in last year), Ascot Resources (up 300% in last year), or Seabridge Gold (up 48% in last year) you’re likely already familiar with what is becoming the largest and most recognized metal belt in the world; British Columbia’s “Golden Triangle”.  If you haven’t followed these companies then you should know that deposits in this area range from high grade ones like the Eskay Creek Mine (Barrick’s most profitable mine averaging 47 g/t gold and 878 g/t silver) to lower grade bulk deposits like Seabridge’s KSM deposits.

Imperial Metal’s Red Chris mine started production in 2015, Pretium’s Brucejack mine starts production in a few months, and four or five more projects are moving towards production.  For a relatively remote part of the world (B.C./Alaska border) there are exceptional logistics.  A high-power transmission line was recently completed to provide power for mega-projects, great quality highways and mining roads from previous projects are in place, and two bulk tonnage shipping ports in Stewart remove most of the major infrastructure based obstacles typical in mining.  Of course, B.C is also a very mining friendly jurisdiction with very low political risk.

Amongst the numerous projects in the “Golden Triangle” there seems to be three stars currently outshining the rest:

  • Pretivm’s Brucejack / Valley of the Kings (VOK) project
    • One of the highest-grading large-scale gold projects in the world
    • Measured and indicated 8.1 million ounces gold @ 16.1 g/t gold
    • Including inferred: 13.6 million ounces gold
    • Intersections up to 41,528 g/t gold over 0.5m
    • Production in 2nd quarter of 2017
    • Doug Casey just started coverage Feb, 2 2017
  • Seabridge’s Kerr / Sulphurets / Mitchell (KSM) deposit
    • The largest undeveloped gold deposit in the world (by reserves)
    • Measured & Indicated: 38,938 million ounces gold / 10.4 billion pounds copper
    • Including inferred: 49,361 ounces gold / 13.1 billion pounds copper
    • Moving towards production
  • Ascot’s Silbak Premier mine
    • 1 million ounces of gold and 44.2 million ounces of silver from 8.6 million tonnes historically produced
    • Intersections up to 14,394 g/t gold and 6,830 g/t silver
    • $20 Million Private Placement by Sprott Mining Inc. on January 19, 2017
    • Moving towards multi-million ounce resource and production in 2017

All three of these lie in the most heavily mineralized part of the “Golden Triangle” according to a geological report in 2014:

“One of the most important mineral trends of northwestern British Columbia extends from near the town of Stewart north to the Treaty Glacier”Nelson / Kyba, British Columbia Geological Survey, Ministry of Energy and Mines  2014

American Creek’s Dunwell Group of properties (Silvershot, Dunwell, Bear River) are located at the southern end of this trend (just 8km north of Stewart), the Electrum property is located in the middle, and the Treaty Creek property at the north end (immediately north of Pretivm and Seabridge).
The Electrum Property    (JV with Tudor Gold)

According to geological summary reports from the B.C. Ministry of Mines the Electrum and the Brucejack are geologically similar to the Premier mine.  Amongst other similarities, all three are low sulphidation epithermal systems with high grade veins of electrum (gold/silver alloy) in quartz veins.  While the Brucejack and Premier mines have a long history of exploration, the surface of the Electrum has hardly been scratched.  Here are some preliminary highlights:

  • Has a history of hand mined ore averaging 1,661g/t gold with 2,596g/t silver (48 tonnes)
  • Has many spectacular drill results including 440g/t gold with 400 g/t silver over 0.5m
  • Has many spectacular surface specimens including 1,926 g/t gold with 37,995 g/t silver
  • Had a very successful program late 2015
  • Had a very successful program in 2016 including a 5x15m trench averaging 3,461.92 g/t (111.30 oz) silver and 2.24 g/t gold, and a bulk sample averaging 539 g/t silver and 2.82 g/t gold (gold equivalent of over 10 g/t or $400 rock)
  • Has a haul road straight to the shipping port in Stewart (40km), power within 2km

An extensive program on the Electrum is being planned for 2017, headed by Jeff Kyba (Tudor).  Jeff was the regional geologist for the Skeena Division of the B.C. Ministry of Energy and Mines which encompasses the “Golden Triangle”.  He left the Ministry in January, 2017 to work on the Electrum and Treaty Creek properties, amongst others.  He has a great enthusiasm for, and sees tremendous potential in these properties. His years of accumulated knowledge and expertise of the region and its projects will greatly benefit the development of the Electrum property.

So, does American Creek / Tudor Gold have an early stage Brucejack (Pretivm) or Premier (Ascot) type deposit in British Columbia’s “Golden Triangle”?

Only Time and exploration will tell.

  • The three properties are all geologically similar
  • The Electrum is located in the rich belt of mineralization “that extends from Stewart to the Treaty Glacier” encompassing the Premier, Electrum, and Brucejack
  • It is located within an extended valley hosting five past-producing commercial mines
  • It has a history of high grade mineralization including electrum
  • Recent programs are finding more high-grade mineralization starting right at surface
  • The right people are in place to unlock its secrets
  • It is only at the “scratching the surface” stage of exploration

American Creek Resources President and CEO Darren Blaney discusses their “Golden Triangle” properties in part one of an interview and AMK’s other precious metals properties in part two.
