Upcoming Catalysts

  • Close Lake Project – opportunity to acquire 51% stake from Orano Canada Inc. Drill program planning is underway to initiate the option agreement
  • Tango Project – 2018 geochemical and geophysical survey being integrated (results pending)
  • 3D geological model commissioned for newly-staked cobalt and nickel properties in Saskatchewan – could help generate exploration targets and potentially help accelerate a discovery
  • ALX is looking to option non-core properties to emerging uranium companies

Company Highlights

  • Ownership or partial ownership in massive 2,000km2 of properties around the Athabasca Basin covering trend-extensions of existing discoveries
  • Excellent established infrastructure – proximal to past and current producing mines
  • Management team has extensive technical and field experience in the Athabasca Basin
  • ALX’s first $12 mln share of expenditures on Hook-Carter project are expected to be funded by 80%-partner Denison Mines Corp. (DML-TSX)
  • Shares the risk burden with JV partners
  • Saskatchewan has low political risk

ALX is a small junior with a big land position that explores with a mandate to provide shareholders with multiple opportunities for discovery in Northern Saskatchewan (Exhibit 1). We highlight ALX because we expect that with properties and interests within historically prospective uranium corridors and a 20% interest in a joint venture on the Hook-Carter Property that is located within an emerging major uranium trend in the southwestern portion of the historically prolific Athabasca Basin, ALX’s massive land position could make it a desirable avenue for investors looking for increased uranium exposure.

Going Forward

We expect until uranium prices improve, Appia will keep most of their focus on the Alces Lake Property with its high-grade REE showings and drill intersections and the more advanced-stage Elliot Lake Property with both a REE and a uranium resource already defined. We also expect Appia to have a first-mover advantage over any newcomers that enter the uranium exploration sector should prices improve and investor enthusiasm return to the space as seen in the mid- to late-2000s.

Management

Below we highlight ALX’s management team with decades of uranium-focussed exploration experience. With such lengthy experience it seems more than likely that the team knows how to operate in the gamut of market conditions and could have an advantage on some less experienced competitors in the event of better markets.
